About Us

The speech therapy clinics in Region Sörmland are located at the region's three hospitals in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, and Katrineholm. Together, these clinics form a county-wide unit with a developing work environment within a broad operation. Our speech therapists work in both outpatient and inpatient care, on neurorehabilitation, and at Child Health Centers (BVC). Each clinic operates independently, but we strive for equal care across the county and therefore work in regional diagnostic groups to create uniform routines and working methods. Here, you have the opportunity to work alongside both experienced colleagues and newer speech therapists. What unites us all is a desire to create better care and accessibility for our patients. The speech therapy clinic is part of the county clinic for Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), which, in addition to speech therapists, also has a specialist doctor's clinic, a nurse's clinic, an administrative unit, and a hearing care clinic. Mälarsjukhuset's catchment area includes Eskilstuna and Strängnäs municipalities with a population base of approximately 140,000 people.

Your Responsibilities

Our clinic receives patients within most speech therapy diagnostic areas, and our speech therapists usually work with more than one diagnostic group. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you had competence in or openness to working with more than one area, for example, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and stuttering, or DLD and neuro including FUS. The competence you bring can to some extent influence how we shape the position, but fundamentally, you should be able to assess and provide therapeutic interventions for preschool-aged children with developmental language difficulties. The responsibilities include conducting parent meetings, assessments, counseling, and proposing direct and indirect therapeutic interventions in both physical and digital visit formats. The care program includes various parent education courses, which are also offered digitally or physically.

You work independently, but we place great emphasis on effective collaboration with speech therapy colleagues and other operations such as child health services and care wards.

We want to give you a good start with us, and as a new employee, you will therefore be introduced step-by-step and offered supervision by a colleague.

Your Qualifications

• You are a licensed speech therapist.
• We view personal maturity, teamwork skills, independence, and being structured as important competencies.
• Since we have many multilingual patients, it is an advantage if you are multilingual with a relevant language.
• We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
