There is a place for you now – the 1st Helicopter Squadron and the Intelligence and Security Section (S2) are recruiting a Section Chief for S2.
About the position
The 1st Helicopter Squadron is based in Luleå and its main task is to conduct land-based operations with helicopters. The squadron is the northernmost combat unit of the Helicopter Wing, responsible for the wing's development in winter environments. With its unique capabilities, the squadron supports the Swedish Armed Forces' branches and combat forces. As the Chief of S2 (Intelligence and Security Section), you serve at the squadron's staff directly under the Chief of Staff. S2 has functional responsibility for intelligence and security services at the squadron.
S2 maintains and develops the situational awareness regarding intelligence and security, both within the section and the squadron, continuously adapting to the external environment and the squadron's tasks on strategic, operational, tactical, and combat technical levels. Security services at the squadron are conducted through, for example, security protection analyses of existing and planned activities. The section is also responsible for conducting security vetting and leads training within the function at the squadron. Intelligence and security services at the squadron are conducted actively during special assignments and are tested and developed during exercises and training.
In the role of Section Chief, you lead and distribute the work at the section together with your competent colleagues. You develop the function's competence and lead your colleagues with an engaged and active leadership style, while also participating in the staff's preparations.
Main responsibilities:
- Personnel responsibility for the section's employees, 5–8 staff members.
- Leads and is responsible for intelligence services at the squadron.
- Leads and is responsible for security services at the squadron, supported by the Deputy Security Officer and the Deputy IT Security Officer.
- Responsible for intelligence and security services during exercises and operations.
- Supports the flight division during special assignments.
- Works in the daily operations of the squadron staff.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Officer rank OF2, or alternatively OF1 / OR7 depending on assessment of personal suitability and previous qualifications.
- Category B driver's license.
Merits:
- Experience in staff service within the Air Force.
- Intelligence and security background through education or practical knowledge.
- Military driver's permit and heavier driver's license categories.
Personal qualities
We are looking for someone who can plan, lead, and develop the intelligence and security function forward in a given task. This includes being solution-oriented and flexible to move the work forward. You should also have good collaboration and social skills, as several units and individuals may be affected by the tasks. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

Other information
Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.
Full-time equivalent: Full-time. Duty and readiness during evenings and weekends occurs.

Work location: Luleå. Occasional business travel may occur.
Salary: Individual salary setting according to the Swedish Armed Forces' terms.
