Section Chief S1 at the Air Base Battalion

At the S1 section, the section chief, administrator, conscript case officer, conscript consultant, and adjutants work with the mission to lead, coordinate, and follow up on the Air Base Battalion's personnel and personnel services for both employed personnel and conscripts. The section provides operational support to the battalion command and subordinate commanders within the personnel area.

The Air Base Battalion is a personnel-intensive unit with a wide variety of operations, meaning that the personnel area is a central part of the battalion's ability to fulfill its tasks. The S1 section is led by the section chief.

Main Responsibilities

As the S1 Chief, you lead the section and are responsible for planning, coordinating, following up on, and developing the battalion's work within the personnel service area.

You provide operational support to the battalion command and subordinate commanders in personnel-related matters and collaborate closely with the wing staff's functions in this area.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Leading the section's work and developing internal working methods linked to local and central directives.
  • Leading, coordinating, and following up on the battalion's staffing work, war-time placements, and personnel planning.
  • Coordinating and following up on personnel supply processes, competence development, and recruitment matters.
  • Integrating the battalion's work regarding holiday planning, duty scheduling, and personnel follow-up.
  • Leading and coordinating conscript-related processes within the battalion.
  • Ensuring that personnel administrative processes are carried out and followed up on.
  • Contributing to the development of the battalion's personnel work through close collaboration with operations and other support functions.

The role requires the ability to switch between long-term planning, coordination, and operational support to operations.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Specialist Officer, SO7.
  • Experience in personnel work, personnel services, personnel leadership, or equivalent operational support, preferably within the Swedish Armed Forces or another large organization.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
  • Good knowledge of the Office package.
  • Category B driver's license (manual transmission).
