This position is for you if you thrive in a setup phase where not all parts are fully in place yet, and where leadership needs to combine operational presence with long-term capability building. Do you want to be part of establishing a new staff in Boden and a comprehensive logistics operation in Northern Sweden – then this is the job for you! The FörsE Norr Staff will be the engine in building long-term military endurance in the north, and you will have a central role in building a new organization in a daily life characterized by development, establishment, and change.
Logistics Unit North (FörsE Norr)
FörsE Norr is a newly established unit within the Swedish Armed Forces Logistics (FMLOG), responsible for logistics to military bases and units within Military Region North. The unit is in a buildup phase, responsible for establishing a staff in Boden as well as warehousing operations at several locations in Northern Sweden. The operations are characterized by growth, gradually increasing deliveries, and the need to develop functional structures, collaboration, and working methods over time. The staff is planned to consist of both military and civilian personnel with broad competence. The staff supports C FörsE Norr by creating decision support materials, ensuring that decisions are translated into practical action, and by planning, coordinating, and following up on operations.
Main Responsibilities
Being the Section Chief of the Planning Section covers two main areas of work. You lead and support employees within their respective areas of competence, where both tasks and the organization develop in parallel. You have personnel and working environment responsibility, as well as responsibility for planning, implementing, and following up on the section's operations. Together with your employees, you create the conditions for carrying out assigned tasks. As the unit's planning chief, you are also responsible to the Chief of Staff for producing and maintaining materials to direct the unit's operations from a two-to-ten-year perspective, including economic forecasts and budgeting. As Section Chief of the Planning Section, you are responsible for, among other things:
- Planning and direction of war-time units, training, exercises, mobilization, infrastructure, new establishment, and upcoming production and assignments.
- Budget and controlling functions.
- Contribute to the building of the section through competence supply adapted to the needs of the operations, both short and long term.
- Introduction and establishment of new employees, clarifying roles, responsibilities, and working methods.
- Contribute to the development of working methods, collaboration, and capability in an environment characterized by growth and change.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Military position (SO8).
- Documented experience of personnel responsibility and leading subordinate personnel with functional responsibilities.
- Category B driver's license – manual transmission.
Personal Attributes
To succeed in the role, you need to be confident in your leadership and able to act even when all conditions are not yet fully defined and in place. You have a structured working method, good prioritization skills, and can translate overarching assignments into practical implementation. You are responsible, have high personal integrity, and build trust through clarity, presence, and consistent action according to our values.
You thrive in an environment where adaptation and development are part of everyday life, and where leadership sometimes requires you to roll up your sleeves yourself. Collaboration and a holistic perspective are natural parts of how you work – for you, the needs of the operations and the team are always paramount. You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
