Fixed-term position as a Researcher at the Institute for Food and Agricultural Economics, focusing on cost-benefit analysis of rural and agricultural policy.
The Institute for Food and Agricultural Economics at the School of Economics and Management, part of the AgriFood Economics Center, is seeking a qualified researcher with an interest in the economic development of Sweden's rural areas and knowledge of the rural development program. The position is fixed-term for 8 months.
AgriFood conducts qualified cost-benefit analyses in the food, agricultural, and fisheries sectors, as well as rural development, on behalf of the government. AgriFood's mission is to act as a bridge between the research community and practical policy-making. In a complex and changing world, we support decision-makers with scientifically grounded and independent analyses of current issues. The operation is a collaboration between the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and the School of Economics and Management at Lund University.
Responsibilities
The appointed person will work with the analysis of instruments within the framework of the EU's Common Agricultural Policy and participate in a project analyzing population changes in Swedish municipalities. The work involves processing and analyzing large statistical databases as well as drafting popular science reports in Swedish.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree or equivalent competence in economics.
- Documented good knowledge of rural development.
- Experience working with Swedish register data or similar large databases.
- Experience in popular science communication of research in Swedish.
- Excellent ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish, as well as good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in English.
Merits
- Knowledge of EU agricultural policy, rural policy, and evaluation of instruments within agriculture.
- Experience in advanced cost-benefit analyses for clients outside academia.
