Description
At the Social Assistance Unit in Bollnäs Municipality, social secretaries, case handlers, and budget and debt advisors/consumer guides work in the same unit. The unit also includes a senior social secretary who provides support in daily work and case matters, as well as the joint reception for Individual and Family Care, which is organizationally part of the unit.
We are now looking for you who are interested in a temporary position during the autumn, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
In the role of a social secretary within social assistance, your main responsibilities are to investigate and assess the right to assistance according to the Social Services Act, as well as to actively work together with the individual to bring about a change in their life situation that leads to self-sufficiency. We view the handling of financial assistance as a qualified social change work aimed at strengthening the individual's conditions for living an independent life. We use the structured assessment method Instrument X as part of the work to clarify people's need for support on the path to self-sufficiency.
With the decision to introduce activity requirements for social assistance recipients, which will come into force on July 1, 2026, the unit and the professional role face development work forward to meet the target group's needs. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you have a positive attitude and a great interest and engagement for people and change work.
Qualifications
In the role of a social secretary, it is important that you are flexible and can work independently but also have good collaboration skills since you have close cooperation with colleagues and other actors. You work for and contribute to a positive atmosphere and joy in work in the work group. You have good communication skills and can express yourself well in both speech and writing.
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or other academic education that the employer considers equivalent.
Experience in case handling and/or work within the professional area is meritorious.
Category B driver's license is required.
