In parts of our municipality, we have heating plants that we burn with bio-pellets. These plants require monitoring, which in our municipality is primarily handled by two operation technicians specializing in boiler operation.

The role of Operation Technician (specializing in Boiler Operation) with us

You will be part of our operations organization, working alongside operation technicians, property managers, building technicians, and project managers who handle the operation, optimization, and maintenance of the municipality's properties. We work to meet regulatory requirements and the needs of our operations. We utilize computerized control and monitoring systems.

Your daily tasks will include supervision, operation, and maintenance of our heating plants. You will also address issues reported by customers via our case management system, analyze and resolve operational alarms, supervise other technical systems, and communicate with contractors and suppliers. Routine maintenance rounds of technical systems are also included.

Your profile

As a person, you are independent, service-oriented, solution-focused, and structured. You prioritize tasks well and collaborate effectively with colleagues, departments, and external partners. You communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. Personal suitability is highly valued.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Documented knowledge for monitoring Class B boilers according to AFS 2023:11, Chapter 10, Section 30, and Appendix 8.
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of solid fuel boilers, such as pellet plants.
• Knowledge of piping and ventilation systems and the ability to work with computerized control and monitoring systems.
• A valid driver's license (Class B).

The following qualifications are meritorious:

• Electrical certification.
• Certification/course certificate for Class B boiler operator.

About us at Properties

The mission of our Properties department is to meet the municipality's total space requirements. We manage approximately 500,000 sqm of owned and leased premises, which are rented internally to various municipal operations. We handle rent administration, property operations and maintenance, emergency and planned maintenance, as well as operational handyman services.

Kungsbacka Municipality has ambitious goals regarding fossil-free heating for our properties and reduced energy consumption in municipal premises. To achieve these goals, operation technicians/boiler operators play a crucial role.
