About the Job

As a Props Carpenter (Dekorsnickare) at the City Theatre, you will interpret, create, and execute the set designer's visions within established frameworks. You are part of the props workshop, which consists of painters, prop makers, carpenters, blacksmiths, and master upholsterers. We work across disciplines, meaning you will also engage in other prop manufacturing in close collaboration with other professional groups, such as those in props and stage technology.

About You

We are looking for you with a relevant degree as a furniture carpenter or equivalent, and with several years of experience in workshop carpentry, preferably from theatre, film, or similar fields. Swedish and English are spoken in the workplace, requiring good language skills. Knowledge of CNC milling and purchasing is considered a merit.

As a person, you contribute new ideas and perspectives and have the ability to see more than one possible solution. You are a skilled craftsman with good material knowledge and an artistic sense of color and form. You plan and follow up on your work in good time, working systematically, organized, and methodically. The theatre's working method is project-based, where everyone contributes to completing a production. This places high demands on your ability to collaborate, to quickly change perspectives, see opportunities in changes, and act in a way that contributes to the whole. For you, good treatment and a respectful, positive work climate are second nature.
