The 19th Brigade Staff is a wartime unit within the 19th Norrland Mechanized Brigade (NmekB 19) and is located at I 19 Norrbotten Regiment in Boden. The 19th Brigade Staff consists of officers and soldiers serving on a continuous and part-time basis. In the basic organization, the Brigade Staff is primarily part of the Norrbotten Brigade, which will in the future operate under the Garrison Staff of I 19 Norrbotten Regiment. The Brigade Staff supports the Brigade Commander with capability development and utilization regarding the command of maneuver battalions and functional units within the 19th Brigade.
FLF FIN (Forward Land Forces Finland)
From 2026, NmekB 19 will have its main focus on operating and serving with a force within the multinational force for FLF Finland. As an employee at NmekB 19 and Boden Garrison, you can become part of a historic mission for the Garrison, the Norrbotten Brigade, the Swedish Armed Forces, and Sweden within the framework of NATO.
The current planning focus is that the majority of the force contribution will be stationed in Boden and conduct activities within the framework of NmekB 19 and FLF FIN in both Sweden and Finland. The activities will include exercises, training, education, and readiness in both Sweden and Finland.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as the logistics functional representative and lead the logistics function within the brigade
- Act as the regiment's wartime unit representative for logistics units
- Responsible for the Brigade Staff's part-time personnel in the logistics function
- Responsible for the logistics function in the development of the brigade's orders and directives
- Represent the brigade at logistics meetings/field exercises
- Support the regiment's mobilization work regarding logistics
- Support the regiment's unit exercise planning regarding logistics
- Support the regiment's personnel supply planning regarding logistics competence
- The position involves periodic absence for exercises and business trips, both within Sweden and abroad within the framework of FLF Finland and NATO.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Officer's degree (OF3/OR8, or OF2 with prognosis towards OF3)
- Category B driver's license
- Good computer literacy and good knowledge of the Office package
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, in Swedish and English

I 19 is one of Sweden's largest regiments with operations in Boden, Kiruna, Tåme, and Grubbnäsudden/Lomben. The main location and leadership of the regiment are in Boden. The regiment's most important task is to build wartime units, and in the coming years, I 19 will gradually develop the new Norrbotten Brigade. By 2028, the regiment should be able to train, store, and mobilize the entire brigade, including the associated functional units; command, field works, air defense, and logistics. The brigade should be able to conduct combat in all environments but be specialized for combat in the subarctic environment in the North. The regiment also houses the Swedish Armed Forces' winter unit, which has the task of coordinating and supporting the development of the Swedish Armed Forces' winter capability. The conscript education is conducted at the Norrbotten Armored Battalion, which is responsible for training and maintaining units for the Norrbotten Brigade. The regiment also consists of the regimental staff, Defense Health, Garrison Support Unit, Logistics Unit, and Local Planning Unit.
