Construction Manager for Structures at Trafikverket in Skellefteå

About the Assignment

Kraftsam Recruitment & Staffing is looking for a resource consultant for the role of Construction Manager for Structures within Large Projects.

This is a consultancy assignment where you will work as additional capacity within the client's project organization. You will be involved in planning the production phase and act as a construction manager for road and railway-related projects.

You will work in close collaboration with project managers and other construction managers, playing a central role in supervising contractors to ensure they are carried out in accordance with contract documents, goals, and agreed terms.

The assignment also includes transferring knowledge to the client's employees regarding the tasks you perform.

About the Client

Trafikverket (The Swedish Transport Administration) is a government agency responsible for the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of state infrastructure such as roads and railways. The agency is one of Sweden's largest construction clients and buyers, driving several of the country's most complex infrastructure projects.

This assignment is located within the Large Projects business area and concerns the Norrbotniabanan project. The base location for the assignment is Skellefteå, with physical presence at Trafikverket's office five days a week.

Responsibilities

In the role of Construction Manager, you will among other things:

  • Lead and coordinate construction management for the assigned area, contract, or technology
  • Provide support to the project manager in production-technical matters
  • Ensure that assigned contracts are carried out in accordance with contract documents
  • Monitor technology, economy, time, quality, environment, working environment, and safety
  • Be responsible for daily contact with the contractor
  • Check and follow up on the contractor's work and report further as agreed
  • Identify problem areas and provide material for decisions on preventive and corrective measures
  • Collaborate with other construction managers within and between contracts
  • Support junior resources in their development if needed
  • Monitor that necessary authority permits, building permits, and other necessary prerequisites are in place
  • Keep a diary of significant events and review and sign the contractor's diary
  • Review control plans and work preparations and participate in inspections
  • Follow up that final documentation and relationship documents are obtained and reviewed
  • Take minutes at meetings
  • Contribute to good relationships with residents and businesses in the surrounding area
  • Participate in design and the development and review of production-technical solutions on site

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as site manager, construction manager, deputy project manager, foreman, project manager, project leader, or similar for assignments concerning infrastructure contracts within road and/or railway. The work experience must not be older than 10 years and must cover at least 50% employment per year of experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience as mentioned above must be as a construction manager, production manager, foreman, or inspector within bridge projects concerning road and/or railway. The experience must cover at least 50% employment per year of experience.
  • Experience with and application of AMA Anläggning 20 or later edition.
  • Experience with and application of General Conditions AB 04.
  • Completed and approved training in Concrete Class 1.
  • Category B driver's license.
  • Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

About the Employment

Assignment Period: The contract is valid until 2028-08-31

Extension Option: 2 + 2 + 1 years

Scope: 100%

Working Hours: Working hours are normally scheduled between 07:00 and 18:00

Base Location: Skellefteå, with physical presence at Trafikverket's office five days a week

Travel during work occurs, primarily to workplaces within the contract as well as to Norrbotniabanan's other project offices in Umeå, Skellefteå, and Luleå.

The assignment must start no later than 2026-12-01, but can start from 2026-09-01. During December 2026, an employment rate of at least 60% is accepted.
