Your Role

As a meal assistant, you will have a varied job. You will prepare and serve meals, prepare and serve snacks, help with kitchen dishes during school lunch, and ensure that clean dishes are placed so they are available for upcoming meals. Additionally, dishwashing and cleaning of the dining room and kitchen are included. Heavy lifting may occur when you, for example, unpack and help receive deliveries to the kitchen. Other kitchen staff work in the kitchen at Ektorp School, with whom you will collaborate closely.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• Experience working in school or large-scale kitchens.
• Experience and knowledge of food hygiene.
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

The following are considered meritorious:

• Relevant upper secondary education or equivalent.
• HACCP experience from recent years.
• Good digital competence.

What We Offer

Ektorp School is a grades F-9 school with approximately 550 students. In August, we moved into a completely new school building with modern and welcoming learning environments, which we share with Ektorp's adapted primary school, Skuru-Duvnäs resource school, and Skogsstigen preschool. With an additional approx. 120 children and students. The school's kitchen also sends food to one of our other schools and a preschool, so the work requires coordination and occasionally a high pace. Here you will become part of an engaged collegium in a nature-rich environment with forests, water, and the Nyckelvik nature reserve nearby.
