Your new job

You are a provider of nursing and care. This care is given based on a rehabilitation mindset, meaning the resident should be activated as much as possible in their care with the aim of improving or maintaining their functional capacity. You administer medication on delegation from the nurse, carry out certain rehabilitation measures on delegation from the occupational therapist/physiotherapist, and report on operations continuously both verbally and in writing to the unit manager/nurse and colleagues.

You are also the contact person for a number of residents, which means you have special supervisory responsibility for the resident(s) you are the contact person for. Being a contact person also means that you, together with the citizen, create an implementation plan to provide individually adapted care and support to the extent possible. The contact person should simultaneously preserve as high a degree of independence as possible. Otherwise, the contact person's tasks may vary and be adapted in relation to the citizen's needs.

The majority of the work involves direct work with care and nursing for the residents. This work includes individualized assistance in all areas required to ensure the resident has as rich and normal a life as possible. Examples include hygiene, dressing, ordering food, serving food, setting the table, washing dishes, cleaning, ironing, requisitioning consumables, administering medication, going for walks, escorting to, for example, the dentist, or conversing with residents, etc. In all these areas, residents should be activated as much as possible with the aim of improving or maintaining their functional capacity. The position also includes providing care and support in the final stages of life as well as palliative care. The work also includes various forms of reporting and documentation.

Your qualifications

We are primarily looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse. Care aides with long experience may possibly be considered. It is an advantage if you have experience in care and support work/elderly care homes and work in a dementia unit, as well as if you have good knowledge of the business system Combine.

It goes without saying that you take initiative, work well with others, and take responsibility for your tasks. You should also be receptive and have the ability to put yourself in others' perspectives or situations. Being able to plan and organize your work efficiently is also important. We also value if you are secure and stable, have self-awareness, and can adapt to different situations. Since the work involves contact with tenants, relatives, and colleagues, among others, and includes documentation, you should have a very good command of the Swedish language in speaking, reading, and writing.

Welcome to us

The elderly care home at Solsticegatan is located in Bäckalyckan, and you can easily reach us by bus. The care home has 90 apartments intended for people with dementia and is Jönköping's largest elderly care home. We at Solsticegatan want to create a pleasant environment and atmosphere through our work, where our residents can maintain a good quality of life. In total, more than 100 employees work in the entire building. We care about each other and our work environment, we have good cooperation, and naturally, the well-being of our care recipients is always in focus.

Good to know

The recruitment concerns 1 permanent position and 1 fixed-term contract for 1 year, full-time. We are looking for assistant nurses for both our dementia unit and for special housing with a somatic focus. Start date by agreement. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening times, both weekdays and weekends. Jönköping Municipality aims for full-time as the norm and always offers 100% employment.
