Job Description

At AFRY Advanced Automation in Västerås, we are specialists in delivering complete automation solutions for the process and manufacturing industries. We work with everything from PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming to system integration, commissioning, and optimization of complex facilities. Our team combines deep technical competence with innovative methods to create efficient, safe, and sustainable solutions. Here, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology on projects ranging from new turn-key installations, reconstructions, to advanced commissioning.

A typical work week may vary depending on the project phase. You may work with programming in-house or be out at customer sites to ensure deliveries. Regular check-ins with the project group and team are a natural part of the work to keep you updated on what is happening within our department.

We are looking for you with a few to many years of experience who take responsibility for your own work. You are expected to contribute to driving projects forward and identifying opportunities for new customer orders for our services. In the long run, we see you developing into a more driving role in projects, participating in the preparation of tender documents, and acting as a mentor for younger colleagues in the team.

You will have support from experienced colleagues in the team, although some assignments may involve working independently. The role may in the future include security-classified assignments, as several of our customers have such requirements.

In this role, it is important that you are problem-solving and have the ability to analyze complex situations to find effective and sustainable solutions. You are result-oriented and work systematically to achieve set goals, while having a strong drive to deliver with high quality. We also look for you to be proactive, take responsibility, and dare to suggest improvements that contribute to the project's success. Finally, you are service-oriented and thrive on building good relationships, both internally and with our customers, where you always strive to provide the best possible support and service.

Requirements

• Education: Relevant education within automation or equivalent work experience
• Experience: At least 4 years of experience within industries related to automation such as:
  • Manufacturing industry
  • Process industry
  • Water & Wastewater
  • Energy & Heating
• Language skills: Fluent Swedish and English, both in speech and writing
• Valid driver's license (Category B)

Merits

• Experience from:
  • Automotive
  • Pharma & Life Science
• Knowledge of various automation systems and software within DCS/PLC/SCADA systems, such as:
  • SIMATIC PCS 7
  • ABB 800xA
  • Siemens TIA Portal, S7
  • AVEVA System Platform
• Experience with older ABB products (AC450, MP200) as well as system upgrades
