Process Leader for Strategic Development – Health and Medical Care Department

The Executive Office of Uppsala County Council is part of Uppsala County Council, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The Executive Office is led by the County Director and consists of approximately one thousand employees. With a steering, supporting, and coordinating role, the Executive Office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations to ensure that political guidelines are implemented across the council's various operations. In this way, Uppsala County Council can fulfill its role, both regionally and nationally.

Do you want to develop and contribute to the growth of Uppsala County Council? We welcome you to join us!

Our Operations

The Unit for Strategic Development works to develop the entire health and medical care sector as well as dental care. We work towards the goal of providing care that is equitable, safe, sustainable, and efficient, while being person-centered with a clear focus on health-promoting initiatives. We have overall responsibility for coordinating the transition work "Close Care" (Nära vård). Everything we do is based on a holistic perspective – for the benefit of our residents and our operations. We support operations in systematic quality work, improvement leadership, and the development of sustainable working methods that make a real difference for patients and employees. We are responsible for coordinating the development of Uppsala County Council's quality management system for health and medical care and dental care, as well as the local system for knowledge-based management throughout the county. We also work with digital development, e-services, and better use of health data within the framework of the future healthcare information environment.

Your Role

As a Process Leader, you will contribute to driving and developing the county's overarching quality work. You will conduct process mapping, gap analyses, consultation reviews, and the creation of process maps. You will also support process development within the framework of other development projects and help develop methodological support that facilitates change work in healthcare. You will play a key role in developing county-wide processes for management and control, as well as support processes linked to the development of Uppsala County Council's overarching quality management system. You will also contribute to the work on the local system for knowledge-based management, which includes the county's municipalities and is in an active phase of development.

Your Qualifications

You have a relevant academic degree, such as a licensed healthcare profession, civil engineer, political scientist, or public health scientist, or other higher education that, in combination with experience and competence, is considered relevant for the position. You have extensive experience in process development and can demonstrate results from carried-out development and improvement projects.

You have good knowledge of Office 365 and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new digital system support. It is an advantage if you have experience from the health and medical care sector, as well as knowledge and experience in improvement leadership, person-centered, and health-promoting working methods.

Your Competence

As a person, you are curious, responsible, and motivated by improving care for patients and their relatives. You are good at creating and maintaining good relationships and are skilled at collaborating. To succeed in this role, you need to be curious, structured, driven, and self-initiating. You can absorb and analyze complex information and have the ability to see the big picture in a larger system. A process-oriented approach is natural to you, and you actively contribute to developing and improving working methods together with colleagues.

The work requires you to switch between strategic and operational focus. You work independently within given frameworks and deliver with quality and on time. At the same time, you enjoy being part of a work group where knowledge is shared and developed together. The role involves many contacts, both internally and externally. Therefore, you need to be confident in your communication and able to adapt messages to different target groups. You express yourself well orally and in writing and can present complex issues in a clear and pedagogical manner. A person-centered approach is a natural starting point in your work.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

What We Offer

The position is full-time, permanent, with a start date as agreed. You will be located at the Executive Office of Uppsala County Council. Our modern office is located in the center of Uppsala, directly adjacent to Uppsala Central Station – commuting here is excellent!

As an employer, we want to create conditions for our employees to thrive. Uppsala County Council assigns all permanent staff for wartime service based on the needs of the total defense. This entails no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.

Before making a decision on employment, checks of suspicion and criminal records will be conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care for children and youth, or compulsory care for addicts, areas covered by optional record extracts. This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks at present are not intended to primarily involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.

This recruitment is conducted entirely through Uppsala County Council, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and advertising sales.
