Do you want to make a difference? Myrängsskolan, Adapted Primary School, is currently looking for an engaged PE teacher qualified to teach physical education in adapted primary school.

About the job

Myrängsskolan in the Gribbylund principal's area is currently seeking an engaged and certified PE teacher for our adapted primary school. Myrängsskolan is a primary school for grades F–5 as well as an adapted primary school for grades 1–6. The school is located in the nature-rich area of Gribbylund, where qualified and dedicated educators work with the students' best interests in focus.

We are looking for you who have experience teaching according to the adapted primary school curriculum and who want to help create a safe, developmental, and inclusive learning environment for our students. In this role, you will teach students in grades 1–6 in various subjects and subject areas, focusing on the joy of movement, motor development, and strengthening students' confidence in their own physical abilities.

The teaching is based on the students' individual prerequisites and aims to develop versatile physical skills through play, movement, outdoor life, and various forms of physical activities. You work to stimulate students' motor skills, coordination, body awareness, and participation in social contexts through movement and cooperation.

We are looking for a pedagogue who is curious, flexible, and creative in adapting teaching so that all students are given the opportunity to succeed and develop based on their own prerequisites. You need to have great patience, good structure, and an understanding that learning and development look different for each student.

We value teachers who work systematically and responsibly with planning, documentation, follow-up, and assessment of students' development. You have the ability to create a safe and accessible learning environment where movement, participation, and well-being are at the center.

In our work, we use among other things pedagogical tools and approaches from PBS (Positive Behavioral Support), IBIS (Inclusive Behavioral Support in School), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and SKUA (Language and Knowledge-Developing Work Methods).

You will collaborate closely with other teachers, student assistants, the student health team, and school management. Building good relationships with students and guardians is an important part of the assignment. Collaboration with habilitation and other external actors is also part of the role, which requires good collaboration skills and a professional approach.

Who are you?

We want you who apply for the position to:

  • be a certified PE teacher and/or special education teacher with a focus on physical education and health
  • have experience within adapted primary school and be well-versed in its curricula
  • work both formatively and language-developing
  • be familiar with steering documents and able to translate them into learning that is understandable and meaningful for the student
  • use digital tools for students' learning
  • see the student's entire school situation in your mentorship
  • have good collaboration skills with colleagues
  • collaborate with the student health service where needed

It is also desirable that you:

  • have experience and knowledge of pedagogical mapping
  • have experience working based on PBS, IBIS and/or TBA, AAC, and SKUA

As a person, you are structured, well-planned, and inspiring in your teaching. You are collaboration-oriented and interested in contributing to the professional development of the operations. You have the ability to plan and organize both your own work and the students' work in an effective way and create a trusting classroom climate where all students are heard. You have the desire to make teaching accessible to all students and are unpretentious in your approach towards colleagues. We would like you to have worked as a teacher for a few years, but newly graduated teachers are also welcome to apply for the position.
