About the Department

The Orthopedic Department is divided into acute, elective, and geriatric sections. Within these sections, we work in cross-functional team constellations. You will work alongside nurses, assistant nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. Also associated with the department are pharmacists, staffing assistants, and nurse managers.

We conduct continuous improvement work and perform daily risk assessments of both the work environment and patient safety. This is done, among other things, through work with the "Green Cross" initiative.

Acute Section

The Acute Section has 16 care beds (14 mentioned in text, split into two teams). Here, patients with acute orthopedic injuries, orthopedic diseases, postoperative care needs, and cancer-related orthopedic conditions are treated.

Geriatric Section

The Geriatric Section has 12 care beds, divided into two teams. Here, elderly and multi-morbid patients with orthopedic injuries are treated.

Elective Section

The Elective Section has 8 care beds. Here, patients with planned surgeries such as hip/knee replacements, back, shoulder, and foot surgeries are treated.

Job Responsibilities

As an assistant nurse here, you play a central role in patient care and recovery. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Basic and advanced care for orthopedic patients.
• Mobilization and support in rehabilitation in collaboration with physiotherapists.
• Monitoring vital parameters such as pulse, blood pressure, saturation, respiratory rate, and temperature.
• Blood sampling and other practical tasks within basic care.
• Documentation in the medical record system according to current guidelines.
• Preparation and care of patients before and after surgery.
• Teamwork and communication with other professions to ensure safe and secure care.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse and thrive in an environment where structure, precision, and good communication are crucial. You have a genuine interest in orthopedics and patient-facing work, and you appreciate working in teams where everyone contributes to a positive and professional work environment.
