Storverkstan AB in Nyköping is looking for at least one new employee starting in the autumn. We would like to conduct interviews during June.

We primarily work on manufacturing large public artworks for artists in Sweden and abroad. In addition, we undertake assignments within design, advertising, film, and other special projects. Sometimes this involves smaller special assignments, prototypes, or solutions for the industry.

At our workshop, no two projects are alike. We work with many different materials and techniques, including fiberglass-reinforced plastic, concrete, clay, expanded polystyrene (EPS), wood, and various surface treatments. Tasks can range from advanced 3D modeling and robotic milling to sanding, painting, mold making, assembly, and practical problem-solving in the workshop.

This is creative and often very enjoyable work, but it is also practical workshop labor. Certain periods can be physically demanding, dusty, monotonous, or repetitive. This may involve long hours of sanding, carrying materials, preparing surfaces, casting, spackling, cleaning, assembling, or performing the same tasks many times with great precision. Therefore, we are not primarily looking for someone who is only attracted by working near art, but rather someone who genuinely enjoys practical work and is willing to put in effort when needed.

We are looking for someone who is handy, curious, and flexible. You do not need specific education or prior knowledge, but experience in craftsmanship, carpentry, small-scale industry, workshop work, model building, design, or similar fields is advantageous. The most important thing is that you enjoy working with your hands, can take on new tasks, and thrive in an environment where projects vary greatly.

Since our assignments are often unique, everyone here needs to be able to help with different types of tasks. The ambition is that, over time, you will be able to work with several materials and techniques. At the same time, there are good opportunities to deepen your skills and develop within specific areas for those who wish to.

We offer a probationary period. Included in the employment is relevant training for tasks where it is required. We are also open to part-time work and/or flexible hours where needed.
