About the Endoscopy Clinic

At the Endoscopy Clinic, you will meet patients coming for endoscopic examination and treatment. The unit performs endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and ERCP.

The Endoscopy Clinic is a specialist clinic within the Surgical Department responsible for endoscopic examinations. The unit collaborates with several of the hospital's specialist areas. Two days a week, we collaborate with anesthesia personnel. We perform approximately 4,500 examinations per year. These are primarily planned patient visits. 20% of the visits are urgent examinations for inpatients. We work in teams with nurses, scrub nurses, doctors, assistant nurses, and medical secretaries. Our working hours are weekdays, Monday-Thursday 07:30-16:30, and shorter Fridays.

Job Description

The work at the Endoscopy Clinic involves close patient contact and varied tasks. Patient interaction and handling of technical equipment are important parts of the job.

Common tasks:

• Prepare and inform patients before examinations
• Prepare examination rooms with instruments and medical technology equipment
• Assist scrub nurses and doctors during examinations, e.g., gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
• Assist with sampling if necessary
• Responsible for instrument cleaning and mid-shift cleaning of examination rooms to maintain high hygiene standards.

Qualifications

Nursing assistant education (undersköterska) and proof of protected professional title.

Experience from specialized care and/or clinic work is desirable but not a requirement. Great importance is attached to personal suitability, teamwork skills, responsibility, and flexibility.

You have good teamwork skills, thrive working in a team, and actively contribute your knowledge and to a good work climate.
