The position is located within the Health and Care Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Health and Care Administration is responsible for the municipality's elderly care, health and medical care, authority exercises, ordering of interventions, and provides care and support in its own operations. In April 2026, Linköping Municipality took over responsibility for home care and sheltered housing in Ulrika/Nykil.
Within home care, you provide support and care directly in people's homes. Here you have the opportunity to truly make a difference and become a crucial part of someone's life every day. You encounter a wide variety of needs and challenges, making the work both varied and rewarding.
Your tasks are varied and based on individual needs. This includes nursing care and personal hygiene, cleaning, laundry, simple meal preparation, and social interaction. The role also involves certain delegated medical tasks from the nurse. Your mobile phone is your primary work tool, showing your visits and what needs to be done. You also communicate with relatives and other stakeholders. Your commitment helps more people continue living independent lives in their own homes.

Together with our 1,500 employees, we work to ensure that residents of Linköping have a meaningful and dignified life. Every year, we provide care and support for approximately 4,100 people and contribute to the municipality's development within the sector.
Ulrika/Nykil is a rural operation on the Östergötland countryside. You and your colleagues are based at Nykil's sheltered housing, which has 17 apartments. The premises are also shared with the care home Ekero. Home care is provided in the southern parts of Linköping Municipality.
Your working hours are scheduled during days, evenings, and every other weekend. Typical working hours are 07:00-16:00 and 13:00-22:00.
Who you are
We are looking for you with work experience from one of the following sectors: healthcare, support and care, service, retail, or hospitality, or other related activities involving contact with and service to others.
A completed upper secondary education is considered an advantage. Experience working in support, healthcare, or care is also considered an advantage.
Work in elderly care involves extensive contact with users and documentation, which means that you must be able to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish.
You have good computer skills and the ability to use digital tools in your work. You must be able to cycle and hold a valid Category B driver's license.
You are self-reliant, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive your work forward. You also work well with others, listen, and communicate clearly, with the ability to adapt your communication style. It is also important that you have empathy and can put yourself in others' perspectives and situations.
