Dependency Center Stockholm is Sweden's largest dependency clinic. We offer support and assistance to people who have problems with alcohol, drugs, medication, or gambling. Our operations include acute and inpatient care, local outpatient care, and highly specialized care. We are also a clinic that provides university healthcare as well as research and education.

The Workplace

Mika Health's target group consists of people who exchange sex for money, use sex as self-harm, or are in other sexually vulnerable situations, for example due to severe addiction or homelessness with or without addiction. Our mission consists of two parts - mental health and sexual health. Our psychologists and psychiatrist offer assessment and treatment of mental illness. Our midwives offer, among other things, sampling, contraceptive counseling, examination, and conversations about sexual health.

We share premises and work closely with Mika Clinic, City of Stockholm. Mika Clinic's social workers offer advisory and support sessions as well as practical help to people who exchange sex for money or harm themselves with sex.

Job Responsibilities

As a psychologist, you work independently with, among other things, structured assessment and diagnosis of mental illness. Evidence-based psychological treatment of mental illness, with a focus on the treatment of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and substance use disorders, but also the treatment of other conditions. Psychoeducational interventions and psychological group therapy are conducted.

The work with assessment and treatment takes place in accordance with national guidelines and Stockholm Region's process maps. We offer you stimulating and varied work with independent responsibility where cross-professional collaboration is a central part of the work.

Qualifications

• Licensed psychologist.
• Previous work experience within dependency care or specialized psychiatry is required, as well as education in and experience working with evidence-based psychological treatment for mental illness in general and PTSD in particular.

Employment Type

In patient-facing roles within the Stockholm County Healthcare Services (SLSO):

• Background checks are applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks upon employment.
• Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, in addition to Swedish professional licensure. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
