YOUR ROLE

Whether you are studying to become a nurse or are a trained assistant nurse, you will have a summer with varied workdays and many human encounters. You will work in home care and in care and nursing homes, becoming an important part of the health and medical care team, where you, together with nurses and colleagues, ensure that patients receive the care they need.

Your workday may consist of monitoring health conditions, performing venous or capillary blood sampling, changing dressings, conducting risk assessments, and documenting nursing interventions. Some tasks you will perform independently, others you will solve together with a nurse or colleagues. The combination of responsibility, variety, and team support makes this summer job particularly educational – not least for you as a student who wants to develop your clinical thinking.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for you who are studying to become a nurse and have completed your second semester, or who are a trained assistant nurse. If you have previously worked in care and nursing homes or home healthcare, we consider this an advantage.

To succeed in the role, you need to have current experience of the tasks involved and be confident in performing them independently. This means that you have regularly worked with, among other things, risk assessments, monitoring of health conditions, blood pressure checks, venous and capillary blood sampling, as well as wound dressings.

Since you move between different workplaces, a B driver's license is required.

The position is subject to requirements for certificate of good conduct according to law. In connection with a potential offer of employment, you must present an extract from the criminal record register for work with elderly persons or persons with disabilities. You are responsible for ordering the correct extract from the Police Authority.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

Our Health and Medical Care Unit works to provide patients aged 18 and above with quality care at the primary care level in the patient's home. As a summer substitute with us, you will be attached to one of our geographical areas in the municipality. In your application, you have the opportunity to specify which areas you are interested in working in, so that we can match you as best as possible.

You work daytime Monday–Friday, which gives a stable and predictable workweek. To give you the best possible start, we see it as an advantage if you can work most of the summer, as this gives both you and the operations good continuity. Introduction and training are preferably conducted before regular vacation periods, so that you have time to become secure in the role and routines before summer really kicks off.

Our operations are located throughout the municipality – both within home care and in care and nursing homes. Regardless of where you work, you will be met by engaged colleagues, good atmosphere, and a work environment where we support each other and together create a secure everyday life for those we are here for.

NICE TO KNOW

We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a cover letter, you answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV. Work psychological tests are used as part of the recruitment process. We work in this recruitment with ongoing selection, interviews, and appointments, so do not wait with your application.

If you work at least 80% during both vacation periods, which together comprise eight weeks, you will receive 10,000 SEK in addition to your regular gross salary. The compensation is paid out after the summer.

For those who are pensioners and born in 1958 or earlier, a 25% higher hourly wage is offered instead during the months of June, July, and August.
