Description
The Centre for Psychiatry Research (CPF) is a unit within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO) that conducts research, education, and development within psychiatry in Stockholm County in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet. We are now looking for a Coordinating Study Director for Specialist Training (ST) in Psychiatry in Region Stockholm.
The role of Coordinating Study Director involves working in numerous collaboration groups linked to the training of Specialist Trainee (ST) doctors in Region Stockholm. The role serves as an overarching resource and entails continuous contact with doctors in training, local study directors, and the management of Psychiatry SLSO. The work also includes administrative and structural development tasks.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include:
- Providing information regionally, nationally, and internationally regarding Specialist Training in Psychiatry in Region Stockholm
- In consultation with other stakeholders, create conditions for good competence development among ST doctors (e.g., quality assurance of courses, control of side-training placements for ST doctors regarding goal fulfillment, support to operations prior to SPUR inspections)
- Chair the group of study directors within all psychiatric operations in Stockholm County (including Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry)
- Act as support and coordinator for study directors regarding Specialist Training in Psychiatry in Region Stockholm-Gotland
- Organize supervisor training for the region's specialists within psychiatric specialties and, when necessary, for ST doctors in psychiatry
- Organize competence-enhancing training days and workshops for the study director group within psychiatric specialties
- Coordinate common theme half-days for the region's ST doctors in psychiatry
- Monitor the national ST study director network
- Collaborate within the Stockholm study director network both within all specialties and within the primary care study director network
- Collaborate with the Stockholm Regional Metis office for VUP (Supervised Clinical Practice)
- Help facilitate supervisor and project contacts for the module "Work according to scientific principles"
- Be responsible for an up-to-date list of key persons at various clinics and specialties regarding Specialist Training in Psychiatry in Stockholm County
- Collaborate with the management of psychiatry regarding the Region's Basic Training (BT) and Specialist Training (ST) assignments
- Stay updated and assist in developing the Region's Basic Training organization and Basic Training education.
Qualifications
This position requires you to be a supervisor-trained specialist in psychiatry. It is highly meritorious if you have current experience as a study director for ST. Research experience is also meritorious.

We are looking for someone who believes that educational issues, specifically Specialist Training, are of great importance. We believe that you are engaged, have good social competence and teamwork skills, and the ability to work structured even under changing conditions.
Conditions
The assignment covers between 70–100% of a full-time position. There is ample room to steer and shape the assignment so that it can be coordinated with work at a clinic or within research. We assume that you have a permanent position within Psychiatry SLSO as a base.
The position is appointed subject to it not needing to be taken for internal relocation, according to current regulations.
In patient-facing work within Stockholm County Council (SLSO):
- A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.
- In addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
