The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Northern Sweden, with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works towards equitable care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience. The clinic has moved to a newly built building where the care environment will be shaped by the concept that the care environment plays a significant role in promoting health. The living and working environment is supported by modern technology and research, which will be evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart through self-sufficiency in, among other things, electricity and heat.

We are looking for a Nurse for the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic, where the target group consists of patients with schizophrenia and schizophrenia-like conditions between the ages of 18 and 60. The clinic is divided into multiprofessional teams working with the patient's needs at the center. The work is carried out according to a modified Case Management model. Treatment is provided individually, in groups, and together with the patient's relatives.

We collaborate daily with various actors such as social services, primary care, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and the Swedish Public Employment Service. At the clinic, we conduct reception visits, home visits, and outreach activities. Our work offers varied and stimulating tasks, and through our teamwork, we make a difference. We have several positive and competent employees who together represent broad knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that make people feel safe.

Your duties as a nurse include serving as a reception nurse at certain times, where you provide telephone advice, telephone follow-ups, and coordination. You are responsible for medication management, follow-up on pharmacological treatment, blood sampling, inviting patients to annual check-ups, and conducting conversations based on the patient's needs.

You provide somatic expertise and contribute with a holistic perspective on the medical, somatic, social, and psychiatric areas. The work takes place both at the clinic and in the patient's immediate environment through home visits together with a colleague.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have an interest in working within psychiatry. Experience of psychiatric care, outpatient care, or other healthcare is meritorious but not a requirement.

You are comfortable making decisions and adapt easily to changed circumstances. The work involves many contact surfaces, so we place great emphasis on your ability to communicate, your good attitude towards patients, and your ability to collaborate.

You have basic computer skills and good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
