Mycronic is a global high-tech company that has been driving the electronics industry forward for over 50 years. We continue to grow and support customers in an increasing number of industries, shaping technologies that define future society and how we live our lives today and tomorrow. We are now looking for more people who want to join and strengthen our engaged and driven teams, which are at the forefront of technology. At Mycronic, you will work in an open, flexible, and collaborative environment where you get to work closely with leading experts and take on challenging projects that turn ideas into reality and bring tomorrow's electronics to life. Welcome to Mycronic!
About the Role
Mycronic is a Swedish global high-tech company with the vision of being the most reliable partner to the creators of tomorrow's electronics. For over 50 years, we have developed and manufactured machines for electronics and display manufacturing. We continue to grow within an expanding range of industries, and the Pattern Generator (PG) division holds a unique position in the market as the world's leading supplier of laser-based mask writers for the production of photomasks, which are in turn used in the manufacturing of high-resolution screens and microprocessors. All high-resolution screens produced in large volumes that you see – whether it is a TV, phone, tablet, Apple Watch, etc. – have Mycronic machines as a critical part of the manufacturing process.
The team you will join currently consists of 18 employees within both electrical and mechanical engineering. Together, you are responsible for tasks such as encapsulating electronics in Mycronic machines, developing mechanical designs, and managing the systems and tools used in hardware development. In addition to your immediate team, you will also collaborate with other R&D teams, including electronics and software, as well as project managers, procurement, and production.
What We Offer
- Work in a stable, world-leading company with an inclusive and flat organizational culture where it is easy to ask for help.
- The opportunity to work in an international environment together with colleagues of different ages and from different cultures.
- The opportunity to work with world-leading high-tech products in an innovative environment.
Responsibilities
You will work in a broad mechanical engineering role with a focus on both new development and management of existing designs in Mycronic's Pattern Generator products. Your responsibility will be to understand the mechanics, create new or improve existing mechanical functions, and contribute to solutions that enable entire systems to perform at the highest level, become more robust, or more cost-effective. In addition to improving and further developing our products, you will also have the opportunity to work on continuous improvements of our processes and how we collaborate.
In the long term, you will take ownership of the design of the loader for Mycronic's mask writers – an input system used to feed mask plates into the machine, in both manual and automated solutions. You will have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas and suggestions for improvement, as well as put your own stamp on the design and the continued development work.
Main responsibilities:
- Design of mechanical parts and functions in Pattern Generator products.
- Verification and documentation that the design meets design requirements.
- Participation in requirement specifications and review of requirements.
- Participation in project planning and cross-functional project work.
- Participation in business development work – for example, identifying, proposing, and contributing to the implementation of improvements in working methods, processes, and tools within the mechanical design area.
