About the role

Sveaskog is on an exciting digitalization journey, and we are now looking for a BI Developer / Data Engineer who wants to be part of our competent Analytics team. The team works from A to Z within Analytics, and in this role, you combine technical depth with a strong business focus.

Most of our data warehouse is currently on-premise (MS SQL Server) and works very well, but we have our eyes firmly on the horizon and have begun our move to a modern cloud architecture in Microsoft Fabric together with dbt. A key part of your role is to help drive and develop our new data platform, while also participating in the maintenance of our current solution. You design and develop robust data pipelines using the orchestration tool Dagster, build insightful data models with dbt using Agentic AI development, and create tracking and reports in Power BI. The work is done with a clear holistic perspective to ensure high data quality in all our flows.

You will work closely with the business to understand requirements and identify how data and analysis can create additional value. You help us bridge the gap between technology and business and are driven by proposing proactive solutions for analysis and tracking. You have a technical role, but thrive in working closely with the business regarding their needs and challenges.

The position is based at a suitable Sveaskog office with good opportunities for travel within Sweden.

About you

For us, the right person is most important. We are looking for you who have a technical foundation to stand on, but above all, a strong drive and a desire to grow along with our business. We believe you have:

• A degree in engineering or equivalent academic education.
• Several years of work experience implementing Analytics solutions and the ability to take data all the way from source to visualization.
• Experience with Microsoft's analysis and data platforms and good knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Python, ETL, Git, and CI/CD.
• A good understanding of both technical and business aspects of BI and Analytics.
• A strong business focus and a natural ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.
• It is an advantage if you have experience with cloud solutions such as Azure or Microsoft Fabric – preferably with tools like dbt and Dagster for transformation and orchestration. You have high ambition and interest in developing within these areas.

As a person, you are driven, structured, and solution-oriented. You have a pedagogical approach and are passionate about making data understandable to others. Collaboration and lack of hierarchy are natural parts of your working style. You are a team player who takes responsibility for the team's joint delivery and agile working methods, while also being proactive and able to work independently.
