Do you want to help develop sustainable wastewater treatment for the future?

We are now looking for an engaged and analytical process engineer who wants to work with the optimization, development, and quality assurance of our treatment processes.

Part of something bigger

Västvatten is a company with great ambitions and high energy. We are 125 employees dedicated to ensuring that the shared water and wastewater systems function optimally in Färgelanda, Munkedal, Sotenäs, and Uddevalla. It is one of society's most important missions, if you ask us.

About the role

Our wastewater department consists of 20 people with various tasks, working together to ensure that our wastewater treatment plants across our municipalities are operated safely and correctly – so that we treat the wastewater before it is released back into the water cycle. The position is based in Uddevalla or Sotenäs, depending on agreement.

As a process engineer, you play a central role in ensuring efficient and robust processes at our wastewater treatment plants in Sotenäs and Färgelanda. You work both strategically and operationally to improve plant functionality, meet regulatory requirements, and contribute to development and investment projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and develop process optimization and monitoring of treatment results.
  • Manage contacts with supervisory authorities, reporting, and compliance with current permits and legal requirements, as well as lead internal control efforts.
  • Develop and improve work processes, routines, and methods within the operations.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of renovations and investments.
  • Create and quality-assure functional descriptions and technical specifications for projects and procurement.
  • Support the operations organization with technical expertise and analysis.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in civil engineering or higher education in fields such as environmental engineering, process technology, chemical engineering, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Good technical understanding and interest in processes.
  • Experience in analysis and monitoring.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B, manual transmission).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Preferred Experience

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

  • Water and wastewater operations or process industry.
  • Biological and chemical treatment.
  • Operational optimization, automation, or process monitoring.
  • Project work or process investigations.

Profile

To succeed in this role, we see that you:

  • Are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented.
  • Are proactive and take initiative for improvements.
  • Collaborate easily and communicate well with different functions.
  • Are meticulous and quality-conscious.
  • Enjoy a role that combines technology, coordination, and development.

Conditions

On-call duties may be included in the position.

Welcome to us!

Water and wastewater are two very important parts for a society to function. We want to be the best at what we do – and we become the best together. We look forward to learning more about you in your application!

Application

Interviews will be held starting from week 36.
