X-ray Nurse for the Mammography Unit, Region Västerbotten

Imaging and Functional Medicine (BFM) Västerbotten operates extensive activities at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå, Skellefteå Hospital, Lycksele Hospital, as well as at health centers in southern Lapland. BFM Västerbotten is responsible for imaging radiological examinations such as nuclear medicine, mammography, and advanced peripheral and neuro-radiological interventions. The equipment includes among other things seven MRI scanners, nine CT units, two PET/CT units, and a cyclotron. The clinic performs approximately 190,000 examinations per year. A large part of the operations involves ward rounds conducted at local, regional, and national levels. Research is conducted in collaboration with Umeå University, focusing on fMRI and nuclear medicine with PET/CT, where international cooperation projects are ongoing. Training for doctors and radiographers is also provided in collaboration with the university. Just under 300 employees work at the clinic.

The Mammography Unit is responsible for all mammography in Västerbotten County, and here you will join a dedicated team of radiographers and doctors. Job Responsibilities

As an X-ray Nurse with us, you are offered varied tasks including screening examinations, assistance with ultrasound and punctures, and patient care. The job also includes image management, image quality control, and administrative tasks such as scheduling and rescheduling. Clinical examinations are performed in Umeå, while mammography screening is offered at fixed units in Umeå and Skellefteå, as well as a mobile unit for the rest of the county. There is a well-developed care chain, and we have close cooperation with the surgical clinic's breast clinic. This means that cooperation with the surgeon's breast unit is intensified as all patients with breast symptoms are referred to our new joint clinic. The placement is in Umeå, but rotation among the county's mammography units is included according to schedule; the placement also covers work in Skellefteå with overnight stays. Work is primarily during the day, but some evening shifts in the mobile unit are included. Overnight stays may occur at that placement.

Qualifications

For this job, you must be a licensed radiographer and have a valid driver's license and driving experience (no outstanding fines at the time of employment). Experience in the profession is meritorious.
