Building Technician for Ödeshög Municipality
Ödeshög Municipality is located in southwestern Östergötland, with Omberg to the north, Lake Vättern to the west, the fertile Östergötland plain to the east, and the deep forests of Holaveden to the south. The E4 highway runs through the municipality, making it easy to reach both Linköping and Jönköping by car in 40 minutes. Approximately 5,400 people live in Ödeshög Municipality, which is the largest employer in the area with around 400 permanent employees across four different departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Building Technician, you work operationally with the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the municipality's buildings. You play a key role in ensuring that our buildings function smoothly in daily life and that planned measures are carried out.
The work is varied and practically oriented, where you are responsible for fixing faults, performing maintenance, and following up to ensure that the buildings maintain good functionality and standards. You work closely with the operations and are an important contact in daily activities.
Examples of tasks include:
- Handling and resolving fault reports and orders
- Supervision, rounds, and ongoing maintenance
- Work with fire-related issues (supervision, simpler measures, etc.)
- Maintenance of ventilation and heating systems
- Minor construction repairs and simpler maintenance work
You work in close collaboration with Operations Technicians, who have overall responsibility for the planning, follow-up, and development of building operations. Your role focuses on executing, rectifying, and ensuring that planned tasks are carried out as planned.
You will belong to the Community Development Department and the Green Space and Property unit, which currently consists of a Property Manager, Property Administrator/Foreman, Operations Technician/Assistant Foreman, and Service Men. You report to the Property Manager, who has overall responsibility for the unit. Within the department, we collaborate closely with the Water and Sewer, Roads and Waste Management, and Planning and Building units.
The position includes being part of the municipality's on-call group with on-call duty/standby for one week at a time according to a rotating schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a high school education with a focus on property management or something we consider equivalent. You thrive in a practical and varied role where you get to use both your technical understanding and problem-solving skills in everyday life.
You have experience working in property maintenance, technology, or similar practical professions. It is an advantage if you have knowledge in areas such as plumbing, ventilation, heating, or electrical work.
You have versatile knowledge and are accustomed to working with practical tasks of varying technical nature.

- Structured in planning and following up on your work
- Capable of taking initiative and seeing what needs to be done, while contributing to creating order and clarity in daily work.
- Have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
A category B driver's license is required.
Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.
Working hours: Daytime.
The position is a 100% permanent employment. Probationary period may apply during the initial 6 months.
Ödeshög Municipality applies individual salary setting.
