About the position

At BB Karolinska in Huddinge, we work daily with a variety of exciting patient groups in an environment characterized by great cultural variation. We meet families and colleagues from all over the world and conduct several unique operations that stand out both in Stockholm and nationally. Among other things, there is a specialized HIV clinic for pregnant women and the perinatal psychiatric unit where we collaborate cross-professionally with psychiatry. We also have a national assignment within fetal medicine and were the first in Sweden to introduce caseload midwifery through the "My Midwife" initiative. Since autumn 2020, we also offer planned home births with the support of our midwives. At BB Huddinge, we meet patients with normal and complex care needs. Care is provided in multiprofessional teams where the midwife plays a central role.

Research and development are a natural part of our clinical everyday life, and we have several PhD-qualified midwives in the operation, creating an stimulating and knowledge-driven activity.

As an Assistant University Midwife, you have a central role in ensuring safe, evidence-based, and inclusive care.

The position involves having an expanded responsibility for independently leading, coordinating, and developing care. In your daily work, you are a role model and a support for the entire care team with a focus on quality assurance. As an Assistant University Midwife, you work on behalf of and in consultation with the section management and OVC.

You develop the unit's guidelines and working methods based on current research and evidence and are responsible for the continuous updating of guidelines. You are responsible for regularly reporting your work in relation to goal areas in the business plan.

You will have a developing job with the opportunity to contribute your knowledge both at a strategic and operational level. With your knowledge, you contribute to the development of the entire operation.

The role includes working two out of five weekends.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Licensed midwife with a Master's degree
• At least 5 years of clinical experience in the specialty of delivery/postnatal care
• Supervisor training 7.5 ECTS credits
