Registered Nurse Wanted for Surgical Ward – Autumn Assignment 2026

Are you a registered nurse who thrives in a fast-paced and developmental surgical care environment?

We are now looking for a registered nurse for a longer-term assignment within surgical inpatient care during the autumn of 2026.

About the Assignment

You will be working on a surgical ward specializing in upper and lower gastrointestinal care. The department treats both acute and planned patients with varying surgical care needs.

Examples of patient groups and care areas:

• Gastrointestinal surgery
• Oncological surgery
• Gallbladder issues
• Stoma care
• Postoperative care
• Bariatric surgery

The role involves standard nursing duties within surgical inpatient care, focusing on holistic assessments, nursing care, and close teamwork.

Work Environment & Teamwork

You will work alongside nursing assistants, doctors, and various other professionals in a well-organized care environment. Tasks are distributed within the team to ensure patient safety and a sustainable workday.

The department offers support from:

• Unit coordinators
• Pharmacists
• Medical secretaries
• Care-related support staff
• Dietitians and other support functions

The placement is primarily on a ward, but work in nearby surgical units may occur depending on operational needs.

Duration & Scope

• Period: Week 36–48
• Scope: Approximately 359 hours
• Working hours according to schedule; days, evenings, nights, and weekends may be included

Introduction

• Workplace introduction is provided
• Clinical introduction for those who have not previously worked in this department

We are looking for someone who

• Is a registered nurse
• Has experience in surgical inpatient care
• Is confident in independent assessments and prioritization
• Has good collaboration skills and thrives in teamwork
• Keeps the patient in focus and works structured even at a high pace

Merits:

• Experience in gastrointestinal or postoperative care
• Experience in stoma care
• Experience with electronic health record systems in inpatient care

Requirements for Presentation

The following documents must be available for presentation:

• Updated CV
• Adult CPR certification
• Two current references from your most recent assignment or employment
