The Viscaria mine in Kiruna is a significant copper deposit with strong geological and technical prerequisites. With permits in place and a clear focus on modern and sustainable mining, the operations continue to develop. The next phase involves strengthening the organization with clear roles and responsibilities.
Here you will have a unique opportunity to step into the startup of a completely new mining operation. You will become part of a modern company with short decision-making paths, close collaboration, and an open, inclusive culture. You are not just part of the operations – you help shape them. The role offers great scope to influence, develop working methods, and set the framework for how we move forward.
About the role
As a Process Operator, you will work with the operation, monitoring, and optimization of Viscaria’s water management and process facilities. The role is a crucial part of ensuring safe and stable operations.
You will:
- Control and monitor water lifting through borehole pumps, basins, and pump stations to WTP-1000
- Monitor and manage the process in WTP-1000, including mine water treatment and production of drinking water for the industrial area
- Conduct daily rounds on internal and external facilities
- Perform sampling, analysis, and handling of process and water chemicals
- Contribute to good order, safety, and operational standards in the facilities
- Participate in daily operational meetings and work closely with technicians and the rest of the operations team
The work is performed in shift rotations, and the facility will operate 24/7. On-call duty may be required.
As more parts of the operation come online, the role will gradually develop to also include monitoring and control of, for example, mine ventilation, the concentrator, settling ponds, and other process facilities from a central control room.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for you who thrive in a practical and responsible role where precision, safety, and long-term thinking are central. You have a structured approach to work and are comfortable following routines while handling a varied workload.
You have experience working in a control room with process control and thrive in a role with shift work. If you also have knowledge in mechanical work, water treatment, or sampling, we see this as a great plus. You are proficient in Swedish and English and hold a valid driver’s license (Category B).
What we offer
You will have the opportunity to be part of the next phase of our establishment, where the organization is strengthened with clear roles and responsibilities. We are an actor with a clear focus on modern and sustainable mining, and you will become part of the work to develop a safe and stable operation.
