The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården receives non-compulsory school-age girls. We have operations in Fjugesta, three miles west of Örebro, and a satellite unit in Granhult, three miles north of Lindesberg. The girls come to us due to psychosocial problems as well as issues with crime or drug abuse.

Job Description

We are now looking for a nurse for an exciting and vital assignment, who can work this summer on a hourly employment basis.

As a nurse at SiS, you are part of an important network. You will assess the physical and mental health of the young people based on your professional role. You are responsible for medication administration, participate in rounds with doctors and the treatment team, are part of the institution's student health team, train ward staff, provide advisory availability, and carry out other common health and medical care interventions.

You will have close cooperation with other staff working at the institution, as well as an important task in collaborating with external actors.

Qualifications

You look at the big picture in everything you do and choose the right strategies to achieve your goals in helping our young people with health and student health issues. You are independent and flexible, which helps you succeed in a changing daily life. Furthermore, you are pedagogical and reach those who need it most, even when it is difficult at times. Further keys to your success are the communication skills and initiative you demonstrate both in collaborations with your colleagues and with the young people. But above all? Your big heart and your ambition to truly make a difference.

You must also have:

• Nursing license.
• Experience in meeting people in vulnerable life situations.
• Category B driver's license, and access to your own car.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience from working within student health.
• Experience of substance abuse care, psychiatry, emergency care, or similar.

Employment:

The position is an hourly employment, work shifts are booked by agreement, with immediate start.
