Are you an occupational therapist with an interest in home care and special housing? Then we might be looking for you! The Care and Social Services Department in Östersund Municipality is now recruiting an occupational therapist to the central unit for licensed personnel.

Today, six occupational therapists work on the unit in close teams together with eight physiotherapists, twelve district nurses, and one nursing assistant. The existing work group is highly experienced with broad and in-depth knowledge. In your work, you will assist citizens in both special housing (SÄBO) and home care. Our central unit serves two private and three municipal special housing facilities, as well as citizens with home care who belong to the municipality's four central home care groups.

We are located in newly renovated premises at Österängsparken in central Östersund. You will have your own office desk in a larger office room where occupational therapists and physiotherapists sit together, which promotes good collaboration. A major advantage of the premises is that the central home care groups are located in the same building, which facilitates collaboration and supervision of home care staff.

The employment level is 100%, and you will work Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, starting September 1st or as agreed. We have annual working hours, which offers flexibility in working times, provided the work allows for it.

Your new job

As an occupational therapist, you work with planning, leading, and carrying out rehabilitation work. You are the one who assesses needs and creates conditions for the individual to have the most meaningful life possible by performing necessary interventions. The work includes prescribing assistive devices and supervising staff and relatives. In your work, you collaborate closely with physiotherapists and district nurses, as well as cooperating closely with other licensed personnel and basic staff within the area's home care groups and the special housing facilities we serve.

The work includes case reviews and collaboration with colleagues where the opportunity for collegial support is great. Additionally, professional development meetings are held for all occupational therapists in the municipality 2–3 times per term for competence development purposes. During these meetings, new working methods, routines, or assistive devices can be discussed, or other training can be held. In other words, there are good opportunities for development in the role.
