The Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) develops and disseminates knowledge at the intersection of social sciences, humanities, technology, and medicine to create system understanding and prerequisites for improving health for everyone.

At the Health Informatics Centre (HIC), we conduct research in health informatics, manage a two-year global master's program in health informatics, and provide commissioned training, standalone courses, and doctoral courses on digital health. By being part of Karolinska Institutet's eHealth core facility, we also provide methodological support to other research groups at KI. Here, you have a unique opportunity to work at the interface between healthcare and technology in an engaging and international environment.

Your role

We are looking for an ambitious and responsible team member who will work approximately 20% on education and 80% on various research projects. You have a solid background in health informatics with an interest in human-computer interaction.

You will be involved in various research projects dealing with health data management and data-driven interventions.

Your work will include:

  • Collecting and analyzing research data
  • Writing publications and applying for external research funding
  • Teaching in doctoral courses on digital interventions
  • Working with methodological support (e.g., requirement specifications, evaluation of mobile apps) within the framework of KI's eHealth core facility

Who are you?

Eligibility for appointment as an Associate Professor requires demonstrated pedagogical skill and a degree at least at an advanced level, or other professional competence of significance considering the subject content of the appointment and the duties involved.

For appointment as an Associate Professor, good scientific skill and good pedagogical skill must be met. (See instructions for the appointment regulations for teachers at Karolinska Institutet).

Additionally, you must have completed a three-week university pedagogical education according to SUHF's recommendations for eligibility-granting university pedagogical education. If such education is lacking at the time of appointment, you must complete such education within the framework of the appointment during the first two years of employment.

Evaluation criteria

When appointed as an Associate Professor at Karolinska Institutet, the eligibility requirements and evaluation criteria specified in the instructions for the appointment regulations apply in relation to the established appointment profile.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Health Informatics or equivalent
  • Fluent Swedish in speech and writing
  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Experience teaching health informatics with a focus on co-design/service design and evaluation of digital health

It is meritorious if the applicant has demonstrated:

  • Experience in leading and developing courses
  • Skills in scientific writing in English and communication skills
