Do you have a passion for sports and thrive working outdoors, where every day offers variety and meaningful tasks? Then we might be looking for you!

As a sports grounds worker with us, you are the hub of operations, ensuring that thousands of Gothenburg residents can practice their sport on well-maintained and safe facilities. At the Centrum unit, you will become part of a dedicated team that jointly takes responsibility for some of the city's most important sports environments. You ensure that our sports venues are always in top condition, whether it involves maintaining artificial turf, preparing for events, or ensuring exemplary cleanliness.

The Centrum unit currently has 13 employees working with our sports venues, two team leaders, and one unit manager. The unit is responsible for the operation of the Slottsskogsvallen sports area, Heden, Skatås, and artificial and natural grass pitches in central Gothenburg. The mix of artificial turf, grass pitches, and athletics facilities ensures varied work. Events such as the Partille Cup, Gothia Cup, the Gothenburg Half Marathon, athletics competitions like the World Youth Games and Gothenburg GP, concerts, and much more are held at our facilities.

Job Responsibilities

We are now hiring an employee for our team at Slottsskogsvallen. The position involves working Monday to Friday, 06:30–15:30, with a 1-hour break. Evening and weekend work may occur in connection with events, for example.

We exchange knowledge and learn from each other. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work broadly regarding operation, maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of these facilities, as well as the vehicles and machinery used, such as tractors, wheel loaders, and lawn mowers. The work also includes cleaning changing rooms and toilets.

We would like you to have a heart that beats for club life and sports, as this will give you an extra dimension in understanding and meeting the needs of our visitors and clubs. Come and be the face of Gothenburg's well-maintained sports surfaces!

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has previously worked with similar tasks as described above, has experience working on sports facilities (e.g., artificial and grass pitches), and has relevant machine experience for the position. A manual B-driver's license is required. We consider it an advantage if you have a C and/or E driver's license, and it is also beneficial if you have education relevant to the other duties included in the position.

For this position, we place great emphasis on your personal competencies. As a person, you are driven, take initiative, and ensure that work moves forward, whether you are working independently or with others. We assume your ability to collaborate is good. The role requires you to be structured and orderly, by using your time efficiently and working systematically and carefully. You have a strong service orientation and treat organizers, clubs, schools, and the general public correctly.

We want the Sports and Associations Administration to be characterized by openness and respect for differences, and we believe that diversity and a balanced age and gender distribution contribute to developing our operations and increasing quality. The goal is for this to be reflected in all our workplaces.

We look forward to receiving your application!

Conditions

In this recruitment, we will not request a cover letter as an application document. Instead, applicants will be asked to answer a number of questions where you describe your competence in the requested area.

During the interview, you must present a passport, national ID, or personal identity certificate issued by the Swedish Tax Agency, and possibly proof of residence permit if you hold citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is because, as an employer, we need to verify your identity and ensure you have the right to work in Sweden.

Since the position involves regular contact with children and young people, the hiring manager will require you to present a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) if you become a candidate for employment. The extract must not be older than one year when presented. You can order an extract from the criminal record via the following link: https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/digitalt-registerutdrag/ (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/digitalt-registerutdrag/)

When applying for jobs with us, we only accept applications through our recruitment system, in accordance with GDPR.

To you who represent staffing and recruitment agencies: We have already taken a stance on the recruitment channels we wish to use for this recruitment and therefore politely but firmly decline offers of advertising and recruitment assistance.
