The Urban Services Department has an important and exciting mission to deliver, coordinate, and develop services for residents and departments in Mölndal Municipality. The department has approximately 550 employees and is organized into four business areas; food and facility care, water and recycling, urban maintenance, and support and customer service.

Urban Maintenance has approximately 150 employees who manage the operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's public environments. We are responsible for buildings, streets, parks, and green areas, as well as other surfaces both indoors and outdoors. Through our work, we contribute to a clean, safe, and pleasant city for residents and visitors.

Job Description

We are looking for you who want to work as a park and sports ground worker and contribute to developing the city's parks and sports facilities.

The work mainly involves operation, maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of sports facilities and parks. It includes driving ice resurfacers, tractors, and lawn mowers, and you perform qualified ice, grass, and artificial turf maintenance. You also help ensure that our facilities are safe and secure for public use.

The work varies throughout the year, and during certain periods, you will work more with park maintenance and upkeep of paved surfaces, such as mowing in various forms, as well as forestry care with chainsaws and brush cutters.

You will become part of a team where we help each other and collaborate between different work areas and units. Sometimes you work independently and take responsibility, and sometimes together with colleagues where you share responsibility for the tasks.

The work involves evening and weekend work, and on-call duty may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a high school education and an interest in park and sports ground maintenance. If you have experience in the field, it is a plus, especially if you are used to working with machinery.

It is an advantage if you have experience maintaining green areas, knowledge in carpentry or mechanics, or training/certification for chainsaws or brush cutters.

You need to have a B driver's license. If you also have experience driving, for example, a tractor, we see this as an advantage.

The work is physical and takes place outdoors year-round, so you need to have good physical fitness and enjoy active work even in changing weather conditions.

As a person, you take responsibility for your work and ensure that tasks are performed well. You can work both independently and together with others. You collaborate well with your colleagues and contribute to a positive work climate at the workplace. You are also flexible and can adapt when work or conditions change. You have the ability to plan and structure your work and see what needs to be done.

You have basic computer skills and can communicate in Swedish in both speech and writing.
