Within the Service Unit at Gothenburg University, competence is gathered across a range of different areas. Together, the unit offers expert support and delivers services to the entire university. Proximity services are provided based on campus areas that correspond to the geographical regions where the university's operations are located. Campus services include combined competencies in local services, caretaking, technical service, cleaning, and mail handling.
Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for cleaning teaching spaces such as lecture halls, seminar rooms, libraries, group rooms, and laboratories. Cleaning will also take place in leisure areas, lunch rooms, restrooms, and other local areas where students, staff, and visitors are present. Administrative tasks are also included in the position, such as email management and registration in the self-reporting system.
Qualifications
The position requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as at least one year of work experience in the cleaning profession regarding regular cleaning. You should have experience with machine cleaning, such as combo scrubbers, scrubbers, and polishing machines.
You must not have any form of allergy that affects the execution of the work. You should be proficient in using IT systems such as Teams and Outlook, and have the ability to work with iPads and learn new IT systems to perform your job effectively.
Experience in cleaning from a university setting, and specifically cleaning laboratory rooms, is meritorious. Additional merits include education in cleaning and proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
We are looking for someone who can work independently but also has good teamwork skills and can collaborate with others when needed. You place great importance on delivering high service and quality in your work. You have no problems communicating with our operations, customers, and students, as you meet them daily in your work. Being part of the work group and contributing to creating good collaboration with the rest of the team is something we value highly.
Employment
The employment is a fixed-term appointment until 2026-12-31 on a full-time basis (100%) with placement at the Section for Local Services, Service Unit. The start date for employment is 2026-09-01 or as agreed.
Working hours are weekdays 06:00–14:40. Weekend work may occur.
