Kista International School is a primary school located in Akalla. The school is a free school founded in 2010 and owned by a non-profit association. It is a growing school that, during the 2026/27 academic year, will have approximately 760 students in grades F-9. The school is highly successful, having recently maintained around 90% eligibility for upper secondary school and ranking among the top three schools in the entire country in the Swedish National Agency for Education's Salsa survey. We strongly believe in having high expectations for our students, and we are not satisfied until every student succeeds. To achieve this goal, we work hard to strengthen cooperation with homes, maintain order and structure in the school, and take care of our teachers so they thrive and can do a good job. We value our collegial culture highly, and in our work team, we collaborate excellently and support each other. We have high adult presence at the school and work towards a structured and well-organized student health service.

We are now looking for a music teacher. At our school, we teach music in whole classes and in a two-teacher model. You and a colleague will teach together in grades 4-8, so you need to be collegial and accustomed to collaboration. You need to feel confident in teaching and be able to inspire students with joy to want to learn more. The role requires you to be structured, have the ability to teach in a pedagogical way to encourage students to gain more knowledge, as well as possess good leadership skills and understand the importance of relationship building.

It is meritorious if you are certified in music, but not necessary as our other teacher is certified. The position is 80-100%. This is a fixed-term employment for the 2026/2027 academic year, but there may be an opportunity for extension, starting Thursday, August 6th, or as agreed.
