About us

Grimstaskolan is a school covering grades 6–9, consisting of 17 classes, one of which belongs to the Adapted Primary School. The school has a total of approximately 470 students, of whom about 20 attend the Adapted Primary School. The Adapted Primary School has its own work team dedicated to the students enrolled there. We are located in eastern Upplands Väsby with easy access to nature, leisure activities, and active associations.

About the position

As a teaching assistant at the Adapted Primary School, you will work in a class following the curriculum for Adapted Primary School. You will work in close collaboration with other colleagues at the Adapted Primary School, where you jointly plan and conduct teaching in smaller groups with high staff density.

The tasks will vary greatly and include, among other things, providing support to individual students, acting as a resource in the classroom, and leading your own activities. You provide support and stimulation based on the students' specific conditions and promote development and independence. This may, for example, involve support for functional variations (IF), reading and writing difficulties, concentration issues, and psychosocial difficulties.

As a teaching assistant at the Adapted Primary School, you follow the students throughout the entire school day.

Other important tasks include identifying developmental needs and contributing to the development of the operation towards established goals. There are great opportunities for you to use your knowledge and experience to further develop the operation's working methods together with your colleagues. The position is a 100% temporary assignment during the autumn semester of 2026.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previously worked in a school and/or has experience with students with special needs (AG).
• Has experience with students with psychosocial issues and diagnoses within IF (functional variations).
• Has a firm grounding in the school's governing documents.

As a person, you are cooperative, secure, and stable, which means you find it easy to work together with others to achieve common goals. We place great emphasis on your ability to collaborate. You have the empathetic ability to understand the students' needs and meet them where they are, as well as the ability to listen, encourage, stimulate, and challenge them to develop further. You are passionate about helping every student succeed and utilize a broad pedagogical competence.

You can work independently, take initiative based on common decisions, and have a high level of responsibility. You also work calmly and systematically with a low-affective approach, as well as a positive and inclusive attitude towards students, colleagues, and guardians. To succeed in the role, you also need to be structured by organizing your work well and ensuring that what is started is completed.
