We are looking for an engaged Traffic Planner who wants to help ensure good traffic flow for our passengers. As a Traffic Planner at SJ Stockholmståg, you will play a central role in developing and optimizing the production setup for commuter train traffic.

As a Traffic Planner, you will work on creating, developing, and quality-assuring basic turnarounds and timetables for commuter traffic. The role involves close collaboration with both clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

You will work both strategically and operationally with planning, analysis, and adjustments ahead of new train plans and major traffic changes. The team you will join consists of 6 people working within traffic planning and trip optimization.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Plan and adjust basic turnarounds and train positions based on the client's requirements in IVU.
• Work with timetable transitions and long-term traffic changes.
• Conduct analyses and develop scenarios for new traffic setups.
• Manage holiday adjustments and special traffic, for example during Christmas and New Year.
• Work with track planning, switch plans, and turnaround lists.
• Collaborate with the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) regarding train positions and capacity.
• Work with vehicle-related issues, such as correct balancing between vehicle turnarounds and available vehicles.
• Be responsible for long-term applications and supplementary applications in MPK/LPR.
• Maintain planning calendars and support ongoing traffic planning.
• Participate in the development of processes and planning routines.

Expectations of the candidate

Requirements:

• University degree with a suitable focus (e.g., engineering, logistics, or optimization) or equivalent significant work experience.
• Good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Excel.
• Experience in traffic planning, production planning, or similar operations.
