Do you want to work in a varied and responsible role where you can combine machine operation and coordination in an industrial environment? We are now looking for a Timber Yard Operator for our pulp mill in Bäckhammar.
Here, you will become an important part of the operations, responsible for material handling, logistics, and operations within the timber yard and landfill area. The role is suitable for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, has good collaboration skills, and experience operating vehicles and work machines.
About the role
As a Timber Yard Operator, you belong to the production organization and the Pulp Mill department. The position is located in Bäckhammar.
In this role, you are responsible for coordinating and placing different material fractions in the timber yard based on directives from management. You ensure that material flows are organized and optimized efficiently, and you are responsible for forwarding information to the organization.
The work includes transportation, loading, and unloading with a loader, supervision of the intermediate storage site for bark, and participation in composting operations and improvement work.
The assignment is shared with a colleague who is part of the same shift rotation. In this role, you work closely with your colleagues at the cleaner and also collaborate with raw material buyers.
Your responsibilities
- Coordinate and place material fractions such as wood, chips, bark, and fuel material in the timber yard
- Ensure up-to-date documentation regarding the placement and rotation of materials
- Coordinate the chipping of fuel chips according to directives from management
- Perform daily supervision of the intermediate storage site for bark
- Transport materials within the factory area and landfill
- Manage and follow up on composting operations according to the control program
- Perform loading and unloading of various types of goods
- Participate in cleaning factory areas, as well as snow removal, sanding, and salting as needed
- Conduct status assessments and work proactively with machines within your area of responsibility
- Document discovered faults and create work orders in the maintenance system
- Actively participate in optimization and improvement work within the operations
- Follow and contribute to compliance with environmental and safety regulations
We are looking for you who
- Have good experience operating vehicles and work machines
- Hold a forklift license with C2 certification and cargo handling
- Have a three-year upper secondary education or other education/experience considered equivalent
- Have good collaboration skills but also enjoy working independently
- Are responsible, structured, and quality-conscious
- Have an interest in technology and logistics
- Are flexible and can support other work areas as needed

About the employment
The position is a 2-shift, full-time, permanent role with a probationary period. Location: Bäckhammar. Start date: according to agreement.
