Who is your future team?
You will be part of the Axis OS Connected Services team. We are responsible for multimedia streaming and system access functionality in AXIS OS, which primarily targets cloud-connected systems. The developers work in small agile teams in close collaboration with internal and external partners. Our goal is to offer high-quality, low-latency media streaming while ensuring that we build cyber-secure solutions. We are now looking for a talented software developer to join our media streaming development. Our streaming services are part of our device platform and act as an enabler for both Axis and Partner connected solutions.

What will you do here as a Software Developer?
As a software developer in the Axis OS Connected Services team, you will join the part of the team that enables new cloud storage technologies for Axis cameras. This includes packaging video, audio, and analytics data, and delivering it in a smart and robust way to the cloud. This is a relatively new technology area in our industry where we continuously develop and explore new solutions. We incorporate open-source components such as Linux, GStreamer, and ffmpeg and actively contribute to the community. Our team works with several different languages, primarily C/C++, Rust, and Go.

You will be involved in all parts of the development, from design to implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring, in close collaboration with our technology partners.

Your responsibilities and main tasks will include:

• Developing new media streaming and storage features for cloud-connected cameras
• Design, threat modeling, programming, reviewing, and testing
• Sharing knowledge and competence with other teams and colleagues

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who like complex technical challenges and enjoy working in groups with other skilled engineers in a culture characterized by cooperation and shared responsibility. We believe you are a driven software developer with a relevant university-level education. We hope you enjoy modern software development, focusing on incremental releases, user needs, and data monitoring. You like to take initiative and influence with your ideas and thoughts.

We think you have:

• A master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• Experience with C programming in a Linux environment
• Knowledge of other programming languages like C++, Rust, or Go
• Experience with multi-threaded programming

It is a bonus if you have experience working with:

• Open-source software
• Network communication such as TCP and HTTPS
• Media streaming and video codecs such as RTSP, H264, and MP4
• Cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
• Software tools such as gdb, valgrind, docker, Jenkins, and wireshark
