The Contact Center for Children and Young People's Mental Health in Västerbotten is a unified entry point into healthcare for children and young people aged 0–17 with mental health issues. We work to ensure good accessibility and to guarantee equal assessment across the entire region. The service provides advice and support and conducts structured assessments to determine the appropriate level of care. The service also offers evidence-based and equal treatment for children and young people, as well as their guardians, in Västerbotten.

We are now looking for a psychiatric nurse who will primarily work with telephone assessments based on structured methods. The role also includes leading digital group therapy sessions together with the rest of the team.

Responsibilities

As a psychiatric nurse with us at the Contact Center for Children and Young People's Mental Health in Västerbotten, you will contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe. You will work in a team with psychiatric nurses, counselors, and psychologists.

You will be responsible for receiving and assessing incoming phone calls and referrals for children and adolescents with mild, moderate, and severe mental health issues. This involves providing advice and support and assessing the need for care at the appropriate level. You will also lead digital group therapy sessions together with other team members.

Patient contact will be conducted digitally through digital care meetings as well as by phone.

The workplace is located in Umeå, and you will be part of a team working with equivalent tasks.

Qualifications

You are a nurse with further education in psychiatry or a nurse with basic psychotherapy training (Step 1).

As a person, you are proactive and flexible and enjoy finding solutions. You have very good computer skills and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You have a strong sense of service and a good manner of dealing with people. Previous experience working with the target group of children, adolescents, and their parents is highly valued. You enjoy working with telephone counseling.
