Södra Dalarnas Rescue Services Consortium is responsible for the rescue services in the municipalities of Avesta, Hedemora, Fagersta, and Norberg. The organization currently comprises approximately 45 full-time employees and 100 part-time employees distributed across 6 fire stations. Our primary focus is accident and fire prevention, which is why all personnel participate in preventive work.

Our member municipalities feature an interesting risk topography, including heavy steel industry with extensive chemical handling, mining industry, national roads 66, 68, 69, and 70, European route 16, and paper and wood industries. Five of these industries are classified as Seveso facilities under the higher requirement level. Södra Dalarnas Rescue Services Consortium is part of the Rescue Region Bergslagen (RRB) and its associated command cooperation.

Job Responsibilities

The role involves performing service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of the consortium's vehicles and rescue equipment. You are responsible for moving vehicles between stations as needed and ensuring they undergo inspections according to current requirements.

The work also includes supporting firefighters in performing simpler maintenance and service tasks, as well as contributing to ensuring that equipment and vehicles maintain high operational reliability and availability for operational activities.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

We are looking for you who are trained as a vehicle mechanic and hold a driver's license with category C. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and work independently and structured towards set goals.

As a person, you are cost-conscious, responsible, and solution-oriented. You have practical skills, take initiative, and see opportunities rather than obstacles. We value your ability to collaborate well and your professional demeanor, as the work involves contact with many functions within the organization.

Working Hours and Scope

Permanent position – Full-time

Working hours are usually during the day, but shifts may be adjusted in consultation with the manager.
