You will join an early-stage large-scale technical project focused on modernizing an existing, complex system. The role is not about coding yourself, but about analyzing the current state, setting a clear technical direction, and ensuring the solution stands the test of time.

You will become part of a small core team that lays the foundation for the entire solution. Your technical decisions, together with the client, will have a significant impact on how the system is built, developed, and maintained moving forward.

The company is globally active with headquarters in Sweden and contributes to strengthening the defense capabilities of several countries. As a consultant, you will gain experience from industries such as industry, defense, medtech, automotive, and telecom, providing you with a broad and stimulating career path.

This is a direct hire position, meaning the recruitment process is handled through Futuria People, but you will be employed directly by the Client. All questions regarding the role and recruitment should be directed to the responsible recruitment consultant at Futuria.

About the Role

In this role, you are responsible for analyzing an existing system and defining how it should be further developed in a modern and sustainable direction.

You will:

• Analyze current systems and identify what should be retained, changed, or replaced
• Develop target architecture based on given requirements, security aspects, and technical prerequisites
• Make decisions regarding technology choices, architecture, and structure
• Ensure the solution is scalable, testable, and capable of further development
• Work closely with project managers, developers, and other specialists in a cross-functional team
• Act as the technical counterpart to both the client and the development team

The role is analytical and investigative, focusing on setting direction rather than hands-on development.

We Are Looking For

• Approximately 8–12 years of experience in software development and/or architecture
• Experience in making technical decisions and defining architecture in complex systems
• Background in systems programming, for example in C/C++ and/or Java
• Good understanding of modern development methods such as CI/CD and test automation
• Experience working in early stages where requirements and direction are not fully defined
• Accustomed to analyzing systems and making decisions with regard to long-term maintenance and development
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

Plus:

• Experience with safety-critical systems
• Experience from the defense industry, automotive, telecom, or similar
• Experience with modernization of existing systems
• Experience working close to security requirements or DevSecOps
