We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer for a long-term consultancy assignment within railway, infrastructure, and civil engineering. This role is suitable for you if you are self-reliant, structured, and confident in supporting project managers and project organizations in complex projects with high demands on progress, monitoring, and documentation.

The assignment is full-time. The workplace is in Gothenburg, and the role requires physical presence at the office 4 days per week. Remote work is typically possible 1 day per week. Business travel may occur.

About the role

As a Project Engineer, you will be a central support to project managers, specialists, and other project team members. You will work closely with project leadership and contribute to driving the project forward regarding time, cost, scope, risks, requirements, procurement/purchasing, administration, and communication.

The role requires you to take responsibility, work proactively and independently, and quickly create structure in projects where multiple parties, systems, and processes need to be coordinated.

Examples of tasks

You will work with, among other things:

• Support to project managers in steering, planning, and monitoring of projects
• Creation and monitoring of project management documentation
• Scheduling, updating, and monitoring of project plans, including work in MS Project
• Economic monitoring, forecasts, cost tracking, and invoice handling
• Risk management, risk logs, treatment plans, and decision support
• Requirement management, control programs, requirement lists, and deviation handling
• Administrative structure in project systems and document management
• Meeting bookings, minutes, notes, presentations, and reports
• Coordination in the preparation of job descriptions, tender documents, and other project-related materials
• Contact and coordination with internal and external project stakeholders
• Permission management, case handling, log updates, and project administration

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you must meet the following requirements:

• University or college degree in economics, engineering, or infrastructure, or alternatively other education combined with experience assessed as equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in the last 6 years working as a project engineer, contracting engineer, designer, site manager, project coordinator, project economist, or similar role
• The experience must involve assignments with at least 80% employment and projects with a production budget of at least 50 million SEK
• Experience in forecasting, cost tracking, and invoice handling
• Experience in risk management
• Good experience in project scheduling, including knowledge of MS Project
• Very good proficiency in the Office suite
• Experience with administrative project systems, such as C7, Projektportalen, ProjectWise, or similar systems
• Good spoken Swedish and very good written Swedish
• Class B driver's license
• Education and good knowledge of AB, ABT, and ABK, or the opportunity to complete/validate education no later than at the start of the assignment
• Training in BASÄVISTA (Sole presence in tracks), completed within the last 3 years, or the opportunity to complete/validate education no later than at the start of the assignment

Personal qualities

You are receptive, communicative, and collaboration-oriented. You can structure information, follow up on activities, drive issues forward, and handle several parallel workflows without losing the details.

Meritorious experience

It is particularly meritorious if you have:

• At least 3 years of experience from railway projects where you have worked with project administration, project management, or project engineer-related tasks
• At least 2 years of experience in economic monitoring and forecasting in infrastructure projects
• At least 2 years of experience with C7 and forecasting in larger infrastructure projects
• Very good collaboration skills and documented experience in relationship-building work in complex project organizations
• Experience from projects in the design phase, construction phase, or procurement/purchasing of project resources and contractors
• Experience with railways, signaling, BEST coordination, stations, grade separations, or other infrastructure facilities

• Scope: Full-time 40 hours/week
• Start: 2026-08-24
• End: 2027-11-15
• Opportunity for extension by an additional 6 months
