The Pharmaceutical Centre is Region Västerbotten's expert body for pharmaceutical matters, advocating for evidence-based, patient-safe, and cost-effective pharmaceutical use and supply within the region. Employees of the Pharmaceutical Centre are located in Umeå at Norrlands University Hospital (NUS), in Skellefteå at Skellefteå Hospital, in Lycksele at Lycksele Hospital, and at the Rural Medical Centre in Storuman.

At the Pharmaceutical Centre, you will join a dedicated team consisting of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, logistics technicians, and administrative staff.

Job Description

Have you, as a pharmacist (pharmacist or pharmacy technician), wondered what it would be like to work in a clinical setting? Now is the chance to apply for a position with us where you will have the opportunity to work closely with healthcare professionals regarding medications!

Your duties will consist of clinical pharmaceutical work at the Medical Emergency Care Unit (MAVA) and the Specialist Care Unit (SPEVA) at NUS, supported by pharmaceutical supply services at the Pharmaceutical Centre.

You will participate in the work at MAVA and SPEVA, where your tasks will include preparing and organizing medications, ordering and restocking medications in medication rooms, maintaining good order, and providing pharmaceutical expertise on various issues, such as medication shortages and discrepancies. As we grow, our working methods also develop in dialogue with the healthcare staff, and you will be involved in this work. Our goal is for pharmacists to work as an integrated part of the teams on the care units we staff. The purpose is to increase patient safety by contributing pharmaceutical expertise and giving nurses more time to be present for patients.

Pharmaceutical supply provides expertise and knowledge, as well as collaboration and acts as a sounding board for the various tasks.

We continuously shape our work based on the needs of care.

Digital meetings and contacts, as well as travel within the region, occur.

Qualifications

You are a licensed pharmacist or pharmacy technician. It is meritorious if you have a few years of professional experience. Experience in clinical pharmaceutical work and/or experience in preparing and organizing medications is meritorious. Fluent Swedish, at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale, is a requirement.
