Welcome to Vännäsby Elderly Center, where we are now looking for assistant nurses and care assistants who want to contribute to creating a secure and meaningful everyday life for those living here. We offer a individually adapted introduction, which includes Lärkällan's education From New to Secure. Lärkällan is the heart of the Care and Social Services Administration's competence-building initiative, where learning and development are at the center. Lärkällan's courses blend theory with practical exercises and reflection. Here you will learn everything you need to feel secure in your role.
Responsibilities
As an assistant nurse/care assistant, you are responsible for providing person-centered care and support in the residents' daily lives, focusing on promoting health, well-being, and independence. Responsibilities include providing personal care, participating in social activities and rehabilitative measures, and handling cleaning and laundry. You are also expected to:
- Collaborate with residents, relatives, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other colleagues to create the best possible care and support.
- Contribute to a positive and secure environment for residents, relatives, and colleagues.
- Improve the quality of life for people with cognitive impairment by reducing behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD).
- Perform tasks from healthcare, such as medication management, simple wound dressing, exercises, and simple sample collection.
- Provide palliative care and care at the end of life.
- Follow routines and working methods, such as social documentation and daily rehabilitation.
Qualifications
Education as an assistant nurse is meritorious but not a requirement. Experience in care and social services is meritorious, and we value personal qualities that make you suitable for working with people in vulnerable life situations. We are looking for someone who:
- Is a responsible and sensitive person who puts the resident's needs at the center.
- Has good teamwork skills and enjoys working in a team.
- Is good at communicating both verbally and in writing.
Conditions
- The position is 75% (with the possibility of full-time) and working hours are scheduled during day, evening, and weekend shifts according to the roster.
- Resource shifts are included as part of the schedule.
- Before an offer of employment, a valid extract from the police's criminal and suspicion register for working in the home with the elderly must be presented.
