Are you an experienced Data Engineer who thrives on building stable, scalable, and long-term sustainable data solutions in production? At AFRY Digital Services, we are now looking for Senior Data Engineers to join our team in Gothenburg who want to work in technically challenging assignments where data engineering is business-critical. (This is not a BI role, but a role for you who wants to work close to code, architecture, operations, and quality in modern data platforms)

Qualifications

As a Data Engineer at AFRY, you work as a consultant on assignments where you build, further develop, and maintain data platforms and data flows used for analysis, decision support, and further digital development. You work closely with other Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and software developers, and are responsible for ensuring that data flows function robustly, efficiently, and sustainably in production. Assignments vary in length and scope from larger platform initiatives to more defined technical interventions, both locally and internationally.

Examples of tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines in Python
• Work with ETL/ELT flows, transformation, and data modeling
• Ensure data quality, validation, and testability in data flows
• Work with workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow or similar)
• Build and operate solutions in cloud environments, primarily Microsoft Azure
• Contribute to CI/CD, version control, and monitoring of data flows
• Collaborate with colleagues and customers regarding requirements, architecture, and solution design

We are looking for someone who has

• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer in a production environment
• Very good skills in Python
• Good experience with SQL, databases, and data modeling
• Experience building and maintaining scalable and robust data pipelines
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Habit of working structured with Git, code review, and testing
• Ability to take ownership of solutions all the way to stable operations

Meritorious

• Experience with Airflow, Dagster, or similar orchestration tools
• Azure services such as Data Factory, Databricks, or Synapse
• CI/CD solutions and DevOps working methods for data flows
• Container technology (Docker, Kubernetes)

You need to be able to communicate professionally in English. Swedish is meritorious for this position, as several assignments and customer dialogues take place in Swedish.
