Description

Short-term Accommodation

Short-term accommodation is an important part of our care chain in Rättvik. Here we support people who, after a needs assessment decision, need a safe place, for example upon discharge from the hospital, during rehabilitation, or while waiting for care and nursing homes.

With us, you will meet a competent and dedicated team of eight assistant nurses who together have broad experience and a big heart for their mission.

Our daily life is varied – here we meet people with different diagnoses and needs, which makes the work both developing and stimulating. You work closely with nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists in a cross-professional collaboration.

Care and Nursing Home Prästskogen

As an assistant nurse at Prästskogen, you have a close and trusting relationship with our care recipients. You are an important person in their daily lives – someone who sees, listens, and creates security.

We are a workplace with a total of 27 employees; the residence is divided into two wards and one night group.

Short-term Accommodation

As an assistant nurse on the short-term ward, you work based on a person-centered and rehabilitative approach. We assume that you:

• Support the care recipient in daily activities and motivate participation and independence.
• Contribute with security, structure, and professionalism in the meeting with people in different life situations.
• Work flexibly and can quickly adapt to changed needs.
• Collaborate closely with other professions and contribute to the whole in the team.

Care and Nursing Home Prästskogen

As an assistant nurse in a care and nursing home, your tasks consist of providing care, support, and service in close dialogue with our care recipients. You will, on behalf of the nurse, perform medical interventions and work with rehabilitative measures based on individual plans drawn up by occupational therapists and physiotherapists.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are educated as an assistant nurse with a protected professional title.
• Have experience working in geriatric care, rehabilitation, palliative care, or short-term accommodation.
• Have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Have good IT skills and are accustomed to handling digital systems.

It is meritorious if you have experience within rehabilitation, palliative care, multi-morbid elderly or dementia diseases and/or experience of hospital care.

As an assistant nurse, you have a strong commitment to people and a positive outlook. You relate in a way that is adapted to the situation and show care for our patients. You are interested in healthcare and in supporting and motivating the patient to become independent based on their own abilities. You convey calm and security and can meet people in different situations in a professional manner. You work systematically and feel secure in your prioritization of tasks and have the ability to make your own decisions. You should have the ability to be sensitive to our care recipients' needs and have a good approach. Furthermore, it is important that you are engaged in the work. You have good cooperation skills and can work individually as well as in a group.

Formal requirements for the position

Protected professional title

Assistant nurse has been a protected professional title since July 1, 2023.

To be employed as an assistant nurse, you therefore need to have proof of a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or meet the requirements to obtain such proof.

Language requirements

To ensure good and safe care, language requirements in elderly care apply from July 1, 2026. For the position, knowledge of Swedish corresponding to at least level B2 according to the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required.

This means that you need to be able to communicate clearly with care recipients, relatives, and colleagues, understand oral and written instructions, read and write documentation, and participate actively in the collaboration in the work group.

Language skills will be assessed in connection with the recruitment.
